Support
How can we help?
Answers to common questions about AfyaFamily. Can’t find what you need? Email us and a person will reply, usually within two working days.
Email support@afyafamily.orgIs AfyaFamily free?
Yes. The app is free to download and use.
Do I need to give my real name or phone number?
No. You create an account with a username and password. Your age is asked so guidance fits your life stage; reports only ever use age bands.
Is Afya a doctor?
No. Afya is an AI guide that shares educational information grounded in WHO guidance. It does not diagnose, prescribe or replace a trained provider — and it will point you to care when that matters.
Who can see my conversations?
Programme staff never see your conversations. Text history is saved only if you choose, live voice is not stored, and chats with verified experts are end-to-end encrypted on your device.
What languages are supported?
English, Kiswahili, Hausa, Amharic, Français and Yorùbá. You can switch at any time in the app.
How do I delete my data?
Open the app, go to You → Privacy & research → Delete my data. You can also request deletion here.
What if it's an emergency?
AfyaFamily is not an emergency service. If you may be in danger, contact local emergency services or go to the nearest health facility.
I forgot my password.
Email support@afyafamily.org from any address with your username. For your safety we will never ask for your password, and we will confirm a few account details before helping.
